The UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters is the International Tennis Federation’s year-end wheelchair doubles championship and is contested by the top eight men’s doubles pairings, the top six women’s doubles pairings and the top four quad doubles pairings to enter at the ranking cut-off.
First held in 2000, alongside the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters, in Amersfoort, Netherlands, the event became a standalone tournament in 2003 and was held in Italy from 2003 until 2010. In 2011, the event moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands for a two year period.
The 2013 Doubles Masters moved outside Europe for the first time, when it was held in Mission Viejo, Southern California. USA, again alongside the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters. UNIQLO became the titles sponsor in 2014 and the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters has been a standalone tournament ever since, with Mission Viejo continuing to host the event until 2016.
The UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters annually attracts many of the world’s leading wheelchair tennis stars and returns to Netherlands this year, with Bemmel becoming the second Dutch City to host the event since it became a standalone tournament in 2003.
